I crocheted an organizer that holds those plastic bags you get from the grocery store. I hate them but I do keep some of them for various paint projects and chores around the house.

The organizer was easy to make, looked so nice in my pantry, the pattern was free, and the creator has no problem with people making the organizers to sell. 

While I could certainly make them to sell on Etsy, I've also noticed that a lot of people are showing pictures of their homemade crafts on the Nextdoor (neighborhood) app or on neighborhood groups on Facebook and getting almost instant orders.

I have a few nieces who  love to crochet and this could be something they did in their spare time.

Is there anything you can make quickly and easily that you know your neighbors would want to pay to have, too? 

Join your neighborhood groups, share a pic, and just see if you get anyone who says "I want one!". If so, maybe you want to start paying a small fee for a featured ad in that neighborhood group.

Yesterday, I walked out of my bedroom and found my youngest son had decided to reorganize our pantry.

Everything that had been crammed into the pantry was now spread all over the kitchen counters.

It wasn't exactly the project I had on my plate for the day but I had a blast spending some hard-to-come-by time with him as we figured out what should go and where things should be placed.

We actually went on to tackle several cupboards, too!

We freed up a lot of space and the kitchen is MUCH more efficient thanks to him.

He has always been an organizer. 

From the time he was about 4-5 years old, he would reorganize his room, toys, closet, and/or dresser at least once a month and then walk me through where he put everything and why. 

In fact, he has talked about starting an organization/house-cleaning service with his girlfriend.

It dawned on me today that he and I could tackle a number of reorganizing projects in the house and create plenty of short-form videos to share on social media.

We could use affiliate links for any products we tested and/or used during our projects.

The projects we did at home would give him more experience and a portfolio he could use to launch his local service business idea.

While headed to the store, I passed the painters who were working on my neighbor's house.

I've seen this done enough in our area (and we've painted two houses ourselves) to know the steps involved.

However, I noticed this painter was doing something unusual to cover the windows and it looked like it was a huge time saver.

So, between seeing that and the rest of the drive to the store I realized how easy it might be to write home owner how-to articles with affiliate links by interviewing local service providers I find in my neighborhood - ESPECIALLY if I see them using some sort of time-saving tip that would help DIY'ers.

I could stop each time I saw a provider in the area and ask if I could interview them at some point. I could offer a link to their business in exchange for the information and include that link in my article.

Maybe they'd even let me take video so I could create video content for my site and social media profiles.

Just a thought on how to create different kinds of content to use for affiliate marketing without having to be an expert on the actual service being provided.
