I'm looking back at all the emails I've sent you in 2022 and noticed that when I include the word "traffic" somewhere you all REALLY pay attention!
One of the frequent questions I get by email:
How do I get more traffic to my website?
Usually I respond with some comment about content and I'm sure people read the answer and go "Well, that was useless...".
Today it dawned on me my very clear answer should be:
STOP
WORRYING ABOUT TRAFFIC & FOCUS ON CONTENT!
Yup, if you're worried about traffic you're focusing on the WRONG thing.
Good content brings good traffic.
If you're not getting traffic then I'm 99% certain you have not created the right content.
If you can't get free, targeted traffic to your website then you haven't:
- Included the right long-tail keywords
- Answered the right questions for your target audience
- Done enough research to create strong
content
- Taken the time to understand the audience you could reach with the least amount of effort
- Created off-site content that could drive traffic to your website
- Created enough content to outrun your
competition
- Properly formatted your content's on-page SEO
Taking an affiliate marketing website that has 60+ posts and almost no traffic is the #1
project I'm tackling in my VIP Club newsletter right now.
We're going to turn things around and I know exactly how we're going to do it.
I've wanted to do a "Kitchen Nightmares" or "Bar Rescue" kind of thing for affiliate marketing sites for quite some time and now's my chance.
;)
What if you're just selling a single product and only need to drive traffic to a sales page?
Good content is STILL the answer.
You control certain fields of a sales page - the title, the product description, the product features, the benefits, the
value...
The right content in those fields should help you bring the easiest traffic you could target (hint - long-tail keywords with low competition are your tunnel in).
Start there first.
