5 Must-Do Pinterest Strategies for 2022

Have you backed off of Pinterest because you think it's no longer getting the results it used to?

I recently received the following in an email:

"Quick question, I have been seeing some rather disturbing news about Pinterest in my inbox. Complaints about drastic drops in traffic..."

She was hearing this kind of stuff from even recognized Pinterest experts!

I wasn't surprised because I'd read similar comments in a number of online articles published the past year.

But I was seeing excellent results...

....and I know why.

If you've been struggling to get followers, impressions, clicks, and saves of your pins try the 5 tips below.

#1 - Look at the Right Data

You could be looking at the WRONG data.

In January 2021 Pinterest made a change to their Analytics reporting.

After that change, Analytics data only includes data on Published pins by default.

Do this to see all data in your report:

Go to Analytics/Overview in your Pinterest profile
Scroll all the way down on the left side of the screen
Check the box that says "Include saved pins"
Scroll back up and see the change in your data

#2 - Go Manual on the App

Things I pin MANUALLY while browsing Pinterest on the app on my phone are doing better than any of the pins I schedule using an app like Tailwind.

Items pinned manually using the app are also doing better than any pins I save using my desktop.

I now take several 10-15 minute breaks throughout my day to hop onto the app and pin naturally.

This should work for the app on tablets, too.

I'm still using Tailwind but only to schedule 5-10 pins each day so that there's always some sort of activity on my Pinterest profile for those days I haven't had time to pin manually.

#3 - Use the Watch Tab

While on the Pinterest app on your phone or tablet, go to the Watch tab.

This tab shows only Idea and Video Pins.

Make sure to be pinning these kinds of pins!

People are heavily drawn to video content and 60% of my Pinterest activity is coming from mobile devices.

By browsing that Watch tab you'll find the pins that really stand out well in mobile format, save more of those kinds of pins, and see better results from having done so.

#4 - Friday, Friday, Friday!

People must not be doing much except browsing Pinterest on Fridays because I am seeing 300-500% higher impressions on those days over any other day of the week.

Take an hour or two any time between early Friday afternoon and midnight and pin away.

#5 - Add Boards for Other Niches

I had been pinning only content closely related to my niche but when I added boards for other topics that would also be of interest to my niche, my results improved.

I started getting more followers, impressions, clicks, and saves.

If your Pinterest profile is all about sewing you don't want to add boards for golf because there's no guarantee that people interested in sewing are also interested in golf.

However, almost everyone on Pinterest is interested in food, home decor, and party ideas.

Add those kinds of boards to your profile, add pins, and you should see all of your numbers improve.

I'm using all of the above along with the steps in my new eBook.

As a result, I've seen a 19% increase in impressions of my published pins and a 47% increase for my saved pins in the past 30 days.

Just adapt your process and you should see it's still a wonderful (and free) source for traffic to your website, product pages, and affiliate links that's much faster than waiting for Google to find you.
