However, there are two things you must know before you try to take advantage of this opportunity:
- The articles announcing this change give us a clue about how Pinterest is going to manage things. They clearly state that Pinterest has turned this feature back on because they updated their spam filters. If you go off spamming your Pinterest profiles with affiliate links I think you're going to run into problems. Focus on building QUALITY profiles.
- I spoke with Amazon Associate Support and they confirmed for me that, yes, this means we can put our Amazon affiliate links on Pinterest, too, BUT we must list Pinterest.com on our list of websites in our Amazon Associates account. To do this, go to your Amazon Associates dashboard, hover over your user name in the top-right, click on Account Settings, click on "Edit your website and mobile app list",
and then add Pinterest.com to your website list. To be safe, you can also add your Pinterest profile URLs to the list.
Keep in mind that you should not take my word for this but should check these facts yourself by contacting the Amazon Associates Support Desk. It's just safer for you if you have your own
confirmation you can keep in your files just in case. ;)
Start with my guide called PinPlosion to help you build quality profiles and gain followers quickly.
I'm also working on a new guide that will show you how to leverage this affiliate link opportunity in new ways AND will tell you which affiliate programs have been working best for me when combining affiliate links and
Pinterest!
Look for that to come out next week - plenty of time to get stuff going before the holiday shopping
period!
