If you've followed me for any amount of time you know I write - a lot. I don't have a problem writing lengthy reviews or long ebooks or forum responses.
But that doesn't mean I want to HAVE to write to make
money. In fact, lately I've had just one puzzle running through my head...
How might I get clicks to Amazon in the shortest amount of time possible? Twenty-four hours. Wouldn't you love to be able to do that?
And without having to write. (Because I enjoy a really good
challenge....)
And without having to pay for traffic...told you...the bigger the challenge, the better.
Or relying on Google. I mean, I might as well tack that on, right?
With the
ability to generate free, targeted, traffic from one of my favorite resources these days I started to see how all of this could come together.
Then I saw where you could get a fully loaded, very sharp looking Amazon site all done and ready to go in a theme I know my husband would love (and I've been looking for something like this for him for awhile now!):
So, here's what I did:- Bought the package at 11:05pm tonight
- Took 2 minutes to download the files
- Took 3 minutes to read the installation instructions (I read fast)
- By 11:18pm I had a new domain picked out and
assigned to my hosting account
- By 11:37pm the site was fully loaded following the instructions
- By 11:41pm I had my own Amazon tracking ID on the site
- I'd have been done at this point
except I decided to customize the header and I got a bit indecisive but I was still done with that by 12:43am (if you go with the generic header you could be done in an hour)
- By 12:49am I had the cron job in my hosting set up so the site will automatically update Amazon information on its own (again, thanks to the instructions because cron jobs aren't something I do on a regular
basis)

Here's the ONLY reason I bought this - I'm very confident I can drive traffic through Pinterest. A site with automated
content isn't going to rank on its own. You need to either write unique content (which is what I was trying to avoid - I've got plenty of sites that I write for already) or buy traffic (which I was also trying to avoid).
However, sports and fitness are GREAT topics for Pinterest and my latest PinPlosion book is the exact method I'm going to follow to drive traffic to the site. Well, actually, I'm going
to sick my husband on that job once I get it set up. He'll actually love this and it's a topic he knows very well.
You could even start promoting this site on an existing Pinterest profile while also building up a following on a Pinterest account designed for the site.
BENEFITS
Considering you don't have to choose a theme or write a single word, this is pretty darn inexpensive. I did buy the OTO because that's the only way to get the unlimited license but that also includes more products, more categories, more content, and more features.
By having the OTO you get the ability to select categories which means you can customize the site to just one sport if you want (just golf or just baseball or just yoga, even) or you could focus on a specific team like a fan site for the New York Yankees. You can have multiple sites each focusing on a different sport. For sports fanatics this is a slice of affiliate marketing heaven.
I've got a son who is heavily into competitive paintball. He hates to write but I could set up a site for him in under two hours and get him going on Pinterest.
My other son is into archery. Same thing. I've got a nephew who loves to skateboard and has
already made sure he and I have time during my next visit to work with him on building his own site. This is perfect.
Also, the OTO comes with FREE INSTALLATION! Afraid to set this up yourself (although you shouldn't be - I thought the instructions were very thorough) the creator will set your site up for you for free.
One caution - make sure you remember to go into each widget on the site and change the Amazon tracking ID to your own. The control panel will change it for all the content except for the widgets in the sidebar, footer, and store page. You don't want to leave the creator's tracking ID on the site.
