Ever come across something and think oh, no - this is too good to be true? And then it's NOT! It's REALLY as good as you'd hoped? Well, I tripped right into one such thing today and - what's even better - is there's a free version that anyone can use so you'll benefit even if you don't want to invest in the paid version (although the paid version is just $12 and has extra features so it's worth a look). I think, if I'm reading the sales page correctly, that it's not new - it's just that this newer version is out but I swear I'd never heard of it
before. (Yes, I sometimes live under a rock...but really, I don't cruise through the WSO section as often as you might think.)This new version just came out yesterday so I'm not too far behind. Here's the problem it solves - hate formatting Amazon product reviews for your WordPress
site? This plug-in adds a simple set of boxes UNDER the WordPress post editor where you literally fill in the stuff you want to write in your review. You don't have to enter any HTML to format the content.Instead, there are 3 templates provided in the free version. You fill in the boxes with the product information, copy the template code from the included text files for one of
the three templates, paste that into your WordPress post editor and the plug-in does everything else.
This does NOT grab information from Amazon. You still have to write the review - but you should WANT to do that anyway because that's how you get powerful, unique content, right?
In the Pro version (the one that costs $12) you get 12 additional templates PLUS:- You can
select any of the templates from a drop down list inside your post editor. This adds the input boxes for that template so you know exactly what fields to populate and how.
- You can add your own data entry fields to be included in a template through the ability to customize templates in the Pro version
- Build your own templates and have them available in the drop down list
- Add the Amazon Add to Cart button to your posts
- Switch from one template to another with a few clicks to change the look of your review
Once you've populated the template fields you do have to copy the code for that template from the included text files that you store on your computer and paste that code into the actual WordPress editor box. That code will grab all the items you entered in the input fields and format them perfectly.
I
published this review in 15 minutes using the Pro version (of course, I DID just buy that product so the content part was easy for me): http://www.extremereviewer.com/perfect-post-2-0-4-test/
Those of you who follow my Extreme Review book
will note that the layout is not the same as what I use on my sites but that's where the ability to customize comes into play. I can create a template that matches my exact layout (including H2 title tags) and then just fill in the blanks any time I create a review for a site. I can create a unique template for each site, if I want.
Take a look at the demo AND at the very least grab the free version for the 3 default templates: PERFECT POST 2.0.4
Once you've signed up for the free version you'll see the option to
upgrade for $12.
Sincerely,
Erica Stone
