Me: Obsessively watching the news, reading medical journals about covid-19, disinfecting countertops and door handles every day, and telling my parents to lock the doors and open them for no one.
Husband: I don't want to hear about it any more. I don't want to talk about it any more. Let me just binge-watch Fast & The Furious movies and it will all be okay.
Until....we went to the store and there was no milk.
He was fine when there was no toilet paper (we've got 16 rolls and some paper towels so we're really okay).
He was fine when you could not find ANYTHING in a can. No soup? No big deal.
It was only when we went to the store for milk last night and there was literally not even a small, elementary school sized container on the shelves that he realized this virus problem was really a thing. LOL!
I'm not worried about getting food or supplies or having to stay at home for awhile (that actually suits me just fine!).
I understand why we are all having to be so cautious right now.
I know that the world WILL return to a (new) normal in the not too distant future.
My real concern?
People who have been hit financially by lock downs, business closings, and event cancellations.
The number of people who do not live on a fixed income or are not assured an income by an employer is frightening.
Restaurant staff, musicians, those in the travel industry, teachers, cab drivers...the list is long.
If you're one of those people it's time to get creative.
1. Maybe there's a service (like writing) that you could provide to others internet marketers.
If you do have such a service and you have examples of your work, email me. Send me a description of your service, information on how others can contact you, and examples of your work. I'll work on
putting together a list of all those who provide an internet marketing related service and send it to my email list. Maybe we can help each other from within this group of people.
2. If you're comfortable building websites you could try building and selling sites on Flippa.com, offer to build websites for people near you, or offer to train people in your area to build their first
website.
3. Check "in search of" listings on any neighborhood apps - I'm still seeing people in search of someone to do yard work, home repairs, computer work, painting, baby sitting.
4. Sell items around your home you're not using or don't need.
If you know someone who wants to get into blogging or affiliate marketing and now has time on their hands I've written an entire series of blog posts that walk a complete beginner through building their first website. These are free for anyone to read. You can send those people
here: https://www.extremereviewer.com/how-to-start-a-blog/.
If you're making money from your own website you might be able to train and hire people in your area who are struggling at the moment and have them help you grow your website.
Just because we have to limit physical proximity doesn't mean we can't still help out those around us or stop moving forward.
Hang in there everyone! We're on a very interesting adventure, for sure, but it won't last forever.
Wishing you all well!
Sincerely,
Erica Stone
