Crafters and artists know this and make their money by selling their pieces online.

And it gets EXTRA attention over the holidays because consumers are on the hunt for the most special gifts they'll give all year. They want to find gifts that will have special meaning.
Plus, we all know that at this time of year if you can at least generate clicks on your affiliate links you're going to see a greater percentage of those clicks turn into sales than you do the rest of the year.
So, we need to get those clicks!
Targeting "handmade" keywords and then featuring products that are unique and that haven't been seen in hundreds of other places is one way to get more clicks on your affiliate links.
Consumers see these unique pieces and they want to know more and to do that they're going to have to click your affiliate link.
Even if the consumer doesn't buy the item you're promoting in your post chances are they've got a long list of gifts they're buying so if you can get the visitor over to Amazon, Amazon will take care of the rest and you make a commission on anything that visitor buys while your affiliate cookie is live.
