How Bad Do You Want Internet Marketing Success?
Published: Tue, 09/06/11
The title of this email is neither original nor fresh. In fact, I stole the idea for this title from a thread out of the WarriorForum today.
The original poster shared an inspirational video, too, that caught my attention.
Many of you are working so very hard to create your new online income streams. You're working around your other jobs, you're sacrificing time with your families, and you're even foregoing sleep in order to fulfill a dream.
How bad do you want it? Listen to the words in this video: http://vimeo.com/27933991
Sure, we're not working on becoming a professional athlete and I certainly don't want you to feel out of breath, but we are trying to become more experienced and more capable at generating income in a new way - a way that might still be uncomfortable and confusing and demanding.
But we want it. We want it for the freedom it can provide in the long run. We want it because it can buy us more time for our families in the not too distant future. We want it because it means more flexibility, more restful nights, maybe a chance to live a new life.
Determination.
My husband called it "crazy". Going on a few hours of sleep a night, getting up and going to work, coming home and getting online, back to a couple of hours a sleep and doing it all over again. When my youngest was asked to draw a picture of his family in school, he drew Mommy with a laptop attached to her hands.
But even my husband knew that it was the only option I had for getting to where I wanted to be so he'd just remember to make sure there was plenty of coffee in the house.
Here's what got me through and maybe it will help you, too. I always tell myself, "I can do anything for a year." I can sacrifice for a year, I can take up a new habit for a year, or I can drop an old habit for a year. A year is not forever. It's just a slice of time. It's far easier to commit to something for a year than it is to commit for a lifetime.
You don't even have to commit to a year's worth of effort to see success online. Just several months. Three months of consistent effort following your chosen strategy.
Some of you are following Squidoo Niche Blaster and I've seen some amazing lenses! There was a woman yesterday who bought the product yesterday morning and by late afternoon she'd sent me the link to her finished first lens! She's not the only one, either! (Check out post #134 where SoEasyMoney throws down a challenge! Want to join her?)
Some of you are following Extreme Review and building your Amazon sites. I've seen samples of those, too, and I love the ideas and creativeness and the passion that people are throwing into their sites. They're asking questions, seeking clarification and TAKING ACTION.
Just a couple of months following something step by step. That's all you need to do to see results. Is it all going to make sense at first? No. But it doesn't matter. You won't learn until you try and that's where the magic happens.
How bad do you want it and are you doing enough to get it?
I don't want you to lose sleep. I don't want you to struggle unnecessarily. That's why I try to outline everything in step by step instructions. The first step is just to get started.
